There will be pop, water, chips, and ice cream sandwiches for sale! $2 each!
We created this walk/event to honour Paul Von Zuben. He was an amazing father, husband, brother, son, uncle and friend. Paul loved the people and the community at Hearth Place during his cancer journey. He was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer in 2016 and fought it for 3 1/2 years. He met a lot of people and made many friends at Hearth Place. This is an amazing organization able to support people and families going though cancer. We want to get the word out there about this place so we can help other people in need and raise money for this amazing place!

Join us on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, for the 5th Annual Walk for Esophageal Cancer. This event is dedicated to raising awareness and supporting Hearth Place. The money will help families and people going through cancer.

Location
The event will take place at Willow Park in Whitby. Gather with us at this location to show your support and make a difference. Since it will be 5 years we would like to have a big turnout! Please save the date!

Fundraising Goal
Our goal is to raise $5,000 since it will be the 5th year of this event. Also
5 years since the Passing of Paul Von Zuben (who fought Esophageal Cancer). Your participation and donations will help us achieve this target goal.

Esophageal Cancer Info.
Esophageal cancer starts in the cells of the esophagus. A cancerous (malignant) tumour is a group of cancer cells that can grow into and destroy nearby tissue. It can also spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body.
The esophagus is part of the digestive system. It is part of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, which is the tube that goes from the mouth to the anus. The GI tract includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and other organs.
